Most strawberries are grown in La Trinidad, Benguet. Lots of people go to this place both to buy strawberry and to try picking some. It's so funny when some tourists would ask, "Where are the strawberry trees?" Just an information to those who haven't seen a strawberry plant yet, it is not a tree, it's a kind of a low perennial herb, with many runners and bearing small white flowers.

Strawberries grow almost all year round but the biggest production is on summer time. Fresh strawberries can be found in the morning because farmers harvest them early in the morning when the sun isn't up yet. So, if you want fresh strawberries, be early!!!

Sweet strawberries are mostly the riped ones (the indicator for a ripe strawberry is red). If you want to bring some strawberries for your families and it will take you a day for traveling, buy the half riped strawberries.
